El Fleming, The River of The Mother of God
This book by Leopold describes in detail situations in the Old Testament that wilderness metaphors are used. Most of these are metaphors comparing slaughter of people to burning of trees or another similar thing. He implies that no matter what the organism's kingdom it's life should command respect if not equal respect. This goes with Lane's theory that we should interact with our environment.
