Jenna Wall: Natural Setting

Jenna Wall - 4/23

Two weeks ago I decided to go to a part of the James River that is more secluded and not as well known. I wanted to get away; to escape the pressures of my everyday life. As I drove to the river on that gorgeous Sunday afternoon I decided to bring my journal and Bible, in hopes of spending some quality time with the Lord. I gazed out onto the water and I was able to relax and really dwell in the presence of the Lord, finding rest of the first time in what felt like weeks. Though I didn't go on a pilgrimage or journey, I still was able to connect with the sacred. I felt God's presence and the joy that comes along with that. I wish I could have more moments like that. It felt so nice to just get off campus and step out of my world; to take a deeper look into the sacredness of places that surround us daily.
