Noland Trail--Brittany Gordon

After reading Anne Dillard's excerpts, there were a few phrases that stuck with me out on the Noland Trail. First, "Nature runs wild because God, too, is an untamed lover of freedom." As a Christian, I really wanted to explore this idea while on the trail. I tried thinking of scripture that would support this idea that God was, infact, an untamed lover of freedom but nothing really came to my mind. However, after being on the trail a bit longer, I realized I was simply coming at the theory from the wrong angle. It could be said that God is an untamed lover of freedom, for He created the wilderness. As Genesis 1:12 describes "And the earth brough forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good." So, if God created all that we have to be good, then He must be an untamed lover of freedom, as He does was pleases Him.
