Spenser Fleming--Noland Trail
At the start of our Noland Trail lesson the concept of communicating with trees was discussed. This is probably my favorite discussion...outside "magical mushrooms on the other side of the island". I grew up in the woods and communication with plants was never dismissed in my family, in fact encouraged. My grandparents garden and my parents were once upon a time "flower children" so this lesson was not new to me. If you spend enough time with nature it becomes as a friend does to you. I have had a cactus for over 10 years now, I can almost feel when it needs water, when its thirsty. Communication with the wild is not a hard task, just one that requires patience and attention. Communication with animals is just like plants, but even easier. You know when a dog is angrily barking vs show barking without even seeing it.
