Walking at the park

I went walking with my mom today at Newport News Park. We were walking at a good pace and were going over the bridge that is above the swampy water. I looked twice to make sure I was seeing it right, and apparently I was. There was a man in a kayak in the swampy water just sitting there. I mean I can understand if it was a river or something but it was just kind of strange seeing him sitting in this nasty water. I guess he noticed saw the curious look on our faces because he point up towards the tree right next to the bridge and said “snake”, very calm and collectively. We looked over and he was just observing the snake just resting in the tree. It blended in so well that it amazed me that he even saw it there. Kind of glad he said something because otherwise I would have thought he was crazy just sitting there in that nasty water, but it was cool that he was just in there to observe everything around him.
