Brittany Wissen -- The Sea at Buckroe Beach
My roommates and I often go to the beach when it’s warm and we’re bored. Sometimes we can spend the entire day, have a picnic in the sand. We avoid the water most of the time because it always seems to be frigid at Buckroe. The best part about the beach is the way, when we go, there is always plenty of space for us, unlike at Virginia Beach in the summertime. There are some aspects about Virginia Beach that I prefer, such as the water quality, but I like Buckroe because we can walk for uninterrupted hours up and down the beach searching for shells and still find more pretty ones when we sit down again. Looking out at the water makes me feel very small, especially when the larger boats ride right along the buoy lines. Beyond them, the ocean seems to stretch forever, and I always wonder how far the other shore actually is.
