On the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, Let’s …Go Shopping!
The article talks about how going green is becoming too easy. A poll showed that a large majority of Americans are shopping for the good of the planet: 76 percent said that they’d bought a product specifically because they thought it was better for the environment. According to the author green activism has gone seriously off course . The author points out that every eample of major environmental progress- reducing acid rain, improving air quality, restoring the ozone layer has been a result of national legislation or global treaty. The goal of the article is to inform the reader that although they may think that they are contributing to helping the plant, it really is not enough just to shop green.
