Jessica Simpson- Outside Reading

One of the sources that I have read about that talks about how different places are considered sacred was when I wrote about Mt. Shasta. It is in northern California and attracts many different believers and followers who believe their is mystical power in the mountain. Originally the native Americans who lived in the area were the only people who thought the land was sacred, and because of this they is a debate as to whether or not to allow tourists to travel the mountain looking for a sacred experience and disrespecting the spirits that live in the mountain. The Shasta people believe that there is a Great Spirit who created the mountain, it did so by pushing down ice and snow through a hole in heaven then using the mountain to step onto earth. The Native Americans believe that the mountain is the center or creation.
