Mark Dungan- Hockey Pilgramage
Now that we are in the middle of April, that means the NHL playoffs have began. Every season at this time of the year, the top 16 teams (top 8 from the West & East) embark on a pilgramage to becoming apart of history forever. There is nothing like watching a game live when you know that they are fighting for their season. Every single night during the playoffs every player on each team puts everything on the line in hopes of being victorious and moving on to the next round. Some consider the Stanley Cup is one of the hardest trophies to win in all sports because these players must play 4 grooling series and win 16 games in order to hoist the cup come June. In every series these players will have to test their physical toughness as well as mental toughness. Those who fail to push themselves to the limits and lay everything on the line with eventually fail to get their names enscribed on the cup as league champs. Those who are willing to do whatever it takes, will join hundreds of other winners and will be remembered for eternity. I believe that this is why people choose to play hockey in hopes of one day embarking on this pilgramage.
