Dr. Redick convinced me to take his religous studies 338 class this summer on the Appalachian Trail. After this class, I really think its going to be a good experience. I have hiked sections of the AT for a couple days at a time here and there, but have never actually spent two weeks on the trail, which I will be doing from May 10-25.
Apparently, the hike will begin in Tennessee and end in Virginia, after about 100 miles of hiking which isnt too bad. Im actually really looking foward to this trip, especially the trail days "celebration" in which "Hippy Kippy" is so stoked about; its actually sounding like a lot of fun. I also am very interested in meeting different people on the trail, especially the thru-hikers. I bet a lot of them will be real characters. I wonder if some of these thru-hikers lose touch with inter-personal relationships because they are out there fo so long with no a lot of interaction. I know there has to be a few weirdos out there for me to interview.
