Ryan Pageau- "Flow"

The concept of flow really caught my attention during our class discussion. I believe flow is best and most easily compared to athletes because I think they achieve it often. I also think that an athlete can come in and out of flow during a given span of time. For example, a football play can get in the zone as soon as he steps onto the football field. However, I think he can lose his “flow” just as easily as he can achieve it because all it takes to knock someone out of the zone is one bad play, or one bad hit, or one fumble.

I don’t think this means that a person cannot regain their flow; I just believe that certain people can come in and out of it voluntarily or involuntarily. To achieve “flow” it takes complete concentration, total involvement, and centered attention on a limited stimulus field which I think that everyone at one time or another will experience.
