Ryan Pageau-"Sacred place is storied place"

Does anyone else believe that stories can really be myths that make a place sacred? Like, stories could have evolved from complete untruth into what people now believe makes a place sacred? Let me give an example I think many people can relate to.

Although I was born in New Hampshire, I spent my middle and high school days in Fairfax, Virginia, as did a lot of CNU students. I live in fairfax station, its an area that borders the town of clifton. Kids arund there know about this little one lane bridge right there off colchester road bordering clifton and fairfax station. It was even on ABC family's "scariest places on earth" tv show years ago, heres the link to show it: http://www.tv.com/urban-legends/episode/206973/summary.html?tag=search_results;title;1, you can even yutube it and check it out.

I literally drove past that bridge 100's of times during my highschool career and to be honest, its not even worth driving to see once; even if your an out of towner. To be really blunt in my opinion, its just a stupid bridge and if I was a betting man, I would say the town of clifton only started rumors about this bridge to bring visitors and more money to the TINY town that doesnt have much income.

I think my point here is that a place can be considered sacred to some people, even though the reason they believe it is sacred is because of stories passed from person to person which may have stemmed from myths.
