Spenser Fleming--Dan Millman
In Dan Millman's book "Way of the Peaceful Warrior", which every person should read. Near the end of the main characters journey he must climb a mountain(reoccurring theme) to a certain spot to learn his final lesson. The hike is long and difficult. When a storm hits they take shelter in a cave and while in this cave the main character falls down a hole. He lands somewhere on the outside amongst the storm. He cannot move and he has a moment where he has everything realized before him. Like the final stage of the Buddhist religion. Long story short he leaves the mountain a different person. His final test (his whole test in a sense) was a liminal experience, a pilgrimage as well. The book is the best I have ever read and truly changed the way I view the world and daily life.
