Andrew Carr- Into thin Air
I read the book Into Thin Air when I was in college and it has become one of my all time favorite books. It is about the summit attempt on Everest and the worst loss of life by climber's on the mountain. I find this book so amazing in what these climber's are willing to risk and attempt in some of the harshest climate and wilderness in the world. I believe they are searching for a higher power and purpose that many people believe exist at many of these monstrous mountains which are climbed. This book looks at the sacredness of the mountain and how it provides so many different things to so many different people, such as an income for the sherpas, a feat of conquer or higher calling for climbers and death of loved ones for all that do no return.
