Andrew Carr-Liminality
I think your discussion in class and example you gave on boot camp was the best example I have heard on liminality. I could complete relate to your stories in the barracks and the idea of when you enter boot camp you are no longer a part of the civilian world, yet you are not yet concidered a soldier by the military. This liminal state of being is very awkward and until your graduation date you are in that liminal state. What's funny though, is that you are now concidered a soldier, but when you arrive at your unit, you again enter that liminal state. You are now a soldier, but until you prove your worth with-in the unit you are still concidered an outsider and treated horribly.
