Andrew Carr-Sacred Place chooses, Gettysburg
The discussion that was presented in class about Gettysburg really brought the idea of sacred placing choosing, not being chosen, to a better understanding for me. The concept of this location bringing two armies together to decide the outcome of a brutal war was a very vivid presentation for me. Gettysburg chose the location for this war based upon its very landscape and opportunity it presented for the Union soldiers in holding off and defeating the Confederate soldiers as they were advancing North. The walk through of the slide show and how the battle played out gave me a very real sense of how this location this site to be sacred not the warring armies.
