Heather Lees - National Geographic - Global Warming Effects

It seemed like when the issue of global warming was initially being brought to the public's attention everybody took an interest in things that they could do to help even in the slightest bit. However, lately, I feel like there has been a lot less information about global warming. In National Geographic magazine, there was an article where they were talking about the effects that global warming is having on the world today. Although a lot of the facts were things that were inevitable to anybody that understands the severity of the glaciers and sea ice melting, some things that were mentioned were completely surprising.

Not only are hurricanes and other natural disasters going to become stronger which will then increase the spending we have as a country and furthermore increase debt bringing down our economy, but animals are continuously moving further up north simply as a way to get to cooler places. Different insects and mosquitoes are also going to continuously be spreading more disease throughout the country. In order to protect our environment, people need to learn that is not something to be taken advantage of. There are plenty more effects of the ones that I have mentioned and people need to start learning how they can be avoided to the highest possible extent.
