Jenna Wall - 4/23
While researching for my final paper I found Sara Maitland's newspaper article on the Via Dolorosa. The author begins the paper by describing what the Via Dolorosa is. She implies that she agrees that Jesus did in fact walk the path on the way to his crucifixion, but she begins to discuss ways in which the Via Dolorosa is not accurate. In her opinion, the stations are no longer as gruesome as the real thing and the 4 of the stations are not biblical. If the writer had supported the 10 stations that are biblical, then her statement would have been more credible. She proves that a spiritual place can be sacred to some and have no value to others. She does not feel the Via Dolorosa is a sacred landscape, though she views the story of Jesus Christ as truth.
