A while ago we discussed when Lane wrote about being an active member of the environment and world. He wrote that "all human perception of landscape s relentlessly interactive...we cannot know the world with also being actively engaged in it."
This is one of those things that you never think about, but once you hear is apparent. I have never thought before about how even those who hate the outdoors and being in nature and a part of it. Without effort you are engaged in the trees and plants and stars around you. You need the oxygen that gives you life, and the shade of the trees, and energy of the sun to survive. Everyone is a part of everything, even if you choose to destroy the environment your a part of, you are a part of it.
Everything and everyone is linked.
Just like Darwin's theory of evolution, the things in the world exist and survive thanks to one another.
