During one class discussion Dr. Redick talked about his experience with swimming under a waterfall after hiking in Hawaii. It reminded me of hiking in Mexico this past summer. With two other students we took a bus trip to a mountain which had a town at the base of it. It took us about an hour to climb to the very top and it was tough work for us. We had to keep reminding ourselves to enjoy the foliage and take in the scenery while we were exerting ourselves. Once we came to the top we experienced a sense of relief mixed with awe as we looked down at what we had just climbed and the town below us. It is hard to feel much more truly alive as I felt at that moment.
