I just got initiated into the fraternity I have been pledging this entire semester. Out initiation was this past weekend and now I and the rest of my pledge class are brothers and can finally start to enjoy the benefits of membership. When walking through the fraternity house there is a completely different feeling about it now. While pledging I dreaded the place and would not have gone there unless necessary. Now that I've been initiated Everyone that lives there treats me differently and I actually enjoy being there. It reminds me of Lane's third axiom about being present to place. I had been physically present to the place more times than I could count but only now can I appreciate it for what its worth. Although I would hardly call this place "holy" the same concept of not being emotionally connected to an area until you have been enlightened as to its true significance applies.
