Kealan Sojack- 4/19/2010
After considering what the fraternity house has really come to mean to me this semester it has become obvious that in the context of my life, the house is an excellent representation of what sacred place is. A second axiom comes to mind when thinking about the house- "Sacred place is ordinary place, ritually made extraordinary." The importance that the house has for me as well as the rest of the fraternity was not present as soon as we entered. It took a long time and a lot of ritualistic procedures for it to take on the meaning it possesses today.
