Yet another axiom is relevant when thinking about the significance the fraternity house has for me. "The impulse of sacred place is both centripetal and centrifugal, local and universal. Lane mentions that there is a constant push and pull that people experience with sacred place. It seems strange but after just being initiated I need a break from all things to do with Greek life, at least for a little while. I know I won't be able to go long without wanting to return to the house and hang out with my brothers that live there. I am experiencing and attraction to and a repulsion from the house.
